About the band Molly & The Ringwalds formed in the Summer of 2000. We played our first public show at the Ale House that year, and we've led the 80's revival in Houston ever since. Over the past eight years, we've played over 500 shows and entertained tens of thousands of fans. We've been packing in the crowds at our free Friday night early show at the Continental Club since August 2003. As leader of Molly & The Ringwalds, Carrie Ringwald juggles the other members of the band, and occasionally juggles cats. Not only a whiz at the all important 80's synthesizer, Carrie plays bagpipes as well. Formerly Carrie played rockabilly piano with Chad Thomas & The Crazy Kings and sometimes still sits in with Houston's Celtic merrymakers The Rogues. Dekan Ringwald plays guitar, bass, and sings. He's very tall. He also plays bass on a few songs so he can get some "face time" with the audience. He earned the nickname "Screamin' Gene" despite never actually having been heard to raise his voice.
